woo-hoo!

we picked up the glider and the dress/changer yesterday...thanks, T-coyote! we decided to tackle the glider first since it looked easier:) unfortunately, they (dutailier) sent 3 of the right length screws and 1 shorty:( home depot here we come.
after a short break, we thought we would attempt the dresser. we (me and papa_mona) were going to approach it how we (not me, but papa_mona and T-coyote!) did the crib...took it up the stairs in pieces. much to our surprise when we opened the box, the dresser/changer comes assembled. there was no way i was going to be much help getting that behemoth up the stairs! to top it all off the back corner had been dinged pretty good:( i called BRU and they said we could bring it back for an exchange, not a chance...see referenced behemoth, or they could give us a 10% discount. we took the discount. while papa_mona went out to get the refund and the screw at home depot, i went over to beg help from our most wonderful neighbor S. he, thankfully, was available later to help with the dresser!!
papa_mona got home, we got the screw in the glider and the cushions in place, whew! the glider is staying in our bedroom with the pack n play right now as that is where baby M will sleep for his first few months. we had to do a little rearranging...papa_mona says our room looks more like a nest now:)

wonderful S came over and he and papa_mona got the dresser up the stairs and into baby M's room much easier than we all thought. it took a great deal of effort but there was no cursing or "PIVOT" moments to be had...whew 2!

S is coming over for dinner tomorrow night as our way of saying thanks and T-coyote got to take the wood chipper for some chipping....thanks guys, we couldn't have done it without you!!!
this pic is of a stuffed animal i got for baby M in denver...i love it and am sure it is going to be his favorite:) i am sensing an elephant theme:)

ps. this whole day was completed without me getting out of my jammies...yes!!!!

pps. all photos taken with the new camera!
