i forgot to post this earlier:)
last night when papa_mona and i were working in the garage, i went to go back into the house and i said over my shoulder "i think i am beginning to waddle". my comment was meant with silence. i asked papa what he thought. he replied "no comment":) what a smart man i married!
i really only think i waddle when i get tired, its not all the time...i know it soon will be though:)
also, the for sake of baby M's future taste buds, i bought bananas at the store today...yuk! i am going to do my best to eat a couple so he is not biased against bananas:)

weekend bliss
on saturday papa_mona was in houston playing paintball so afterward, he and the boys decided to hit up one of the burger joints on the top 50 list. they went to beck's prime and had the bacon cheese burger. papa_mona thought the counter burger we had in austin was better, even though beck's ranked higher. i think he still enjoyed it though:)
we might try to hit up a new place on friday. will let you know how that goes!
on sunday, papa_mona went wakeboarding with S and i went walking with Csquared. in the afternoon, papa did yard work and i went to sugar mamas (cupcakes) with both big and little Csquareds (mom and daughter). i meant to take a picture of our delicious cupcakes but i ate it before i remembered:( i'll try to remember next time:) little Csquared came over after and helped me make zucchini bread...it was good times had by all. i need to do better about taking pictures...must remember.
all in all, i had a pretty relaxing weekend and papa_mona had a busy but fun weekend. doing our best to get all our activities in before baby M arrives!

one for you, one for me
i got a totally girly (splurge) diaper bag but decided papa_mona isn't probably going to want to be toting it around when he and baby M are out and about:) so he got his own diaper dude diaper bag! it came yesterday and i think it will suit him just perfect.

we also ordered our BOB revolution jogging stroller yesterday. they are having a 20% off sale at REI so we couldn't pass that up! we also got to use our dividend points so that was an additional $80 off...i was feeling quite proud of the deal we got:) it is supposed to come in next weekend...we had it shipped to the store for free and will pick it up there.
papa_mona is off playing paintball in houston today and is going to try and hit up one of the top 50 burger joints while he is there. hopefully, he remembers to take a picture before chowing down:) i think i am going to head out to the library and see what else i can find to keep myself occupied. if i stay at the house i just seem to want to eat:) i think some pumpkin muffins might be in the near future!!!

low rider
well, i think it tasted like a melted orange icee pop. it didn't really taste too bad:) i also had my choice of orange or fruit punch...who knew? should find out next week if anything was wrong with the blood work.
baby M's HR was in the 150's...normal and good! dr L said i am looking good and measuring right on target...she did say my belly is funny shaped:) baby M is a low rider and we think he is laying long ways just above my pelvis. he also tends to gravitate towards my right side. so all my belly is down low:) i go back in 2 weeks.
we are all signed up for our childbirth and breastfeeding classes. now we just need to decide when to do the L&D tour at the hospital...they do them weekly so we'll probably do it sometime in october.

woo-hoo!
we picked up the glider and the dress/changer yesterday...thanks, T-coyote! we decided to tackle the glider first since it looked easier:) unfortunately, they (dutailier) sent 3 of the right length screws and 1 shorty:( home depot here we come.
after a short break, we thought we would attempt the dresser. we (me and papa_mona) were going to approach it how we (not me, but papa_mona and T-coyote!) did the crib...took it up the stairs in pieces. much to our surprise when we opened the box, the dresser/changer comes assembled. there was no way i was going to be much help getting that behemoth up the stairs! to top it all off the back corner had been dinged pretty good:( i called BRU and they said we could bring it back for an exchange, not a chance...see referenced behemoth, or they could give us a 10% discount. we took the discount. while papa_mona went out to get the refund and the screw at home depot, i went over to beg help from our most wonderful neighbor S. he, thankfully, was available later to help with the dresser!!
papa_mona got home, we got the screw in the glider and the cushions in place, whew! the glider is staying in our bedroom with the pack n play right now as that is where baby M will sleep for his first few months. we had to do a little rearranging...papa_mona says our room looks more like a nest now:)

wonderful S came over and he and papa_mona got the dresser up the stairs and into baby M's room much easier than we all thought. it took a great deal of effort but there was no cursing or "PIVOT" moments to be had...whew 2!

S is coming over for dinner tomorrow night as our way of saying thanks and T-coyote got to take the wood chipper for some chipping....thanks guys, we couldn't have done it without you!!!
this pic is of a stuffed animal i got for baby M in denver...i love it and am sure it is going to be his favorite:) i am sensing an elephant theme:)

ps. this whole day was completed without me getting out of my jammies...yes!!!!

pps. all photos taken with the new camera!

momona
momona is a hawaiian word for fat and/or ripe. it is something we (papa_mona and i) have taken to call each other since we went to hawaii in 2006 for grandpa S's retirement. papa_mona played football with some hawaiians in college and would often times say "kona, don't be so momona". i loved the word/phrase and somehow calling our bellies momona morphed into calling each other momona, which now on most days gets shortened to mona:) we use it as a noun and definitely as a term of endearment!
i also thought since i am so momona/ripe with our first little one, what a perfect name for the blog! all baby M is working on right now is becoming nice and momona!!!

Colorado trip
disclaimer: all photos taken with iphone so please forgive the quality...will soon be learning to use the new fancy camera and take better pictures, promise!
we left for denver at the crack of dawn on the 13th but it was all well worth it because we got to have lunch with a bunch of friends (mine) from college and their kiddos! so good to see everyone!!
we also found out that baby M is going to have a little girl cousin...aunt K and uncle T had their 20 week US and looks like the baby is looking good, healthy and pink!!
the 14th was aunt L's graduation....yay, aunt L for finishing school...she's a dr. now...so fancy! baby M also got to meet grandma and grandpa S, as well as aunt L and uncle W, for the first time. he was kind of little stinker and only seemed to move when they weren't looking:)

on the 15th, D came and picked me and papa_M up for a trip up to dillon. it was baby M's first trip into the mountains. the change in the altitude left me with a little headache but it was well worth it. got to see D's condo for the first time...she did lots of work to it and it looks fantastic! we were absolutely loving the weather and even made D turn on the fireplace for us! D had lots of little critters that play outside her porch so of course papa_M promptly named them all...tried to take a picture but only had my iphone and it didn't really turn out:(
D took papa_M mountain biking and he only fell once...not bad for first time biking in real mountains:) monday morning before we left, we all went kayaking on lake dillon. it was beautiful!

we headed back to hot, hot austin on the 17th and got home just fine around 8pm. just trying to get settled back into the swing of things. i noticed today while i was on the bump that i have only 99 days left to my pregnancy...boy, does time go fast. lots to do before baby M gets here. we will be kicking it into high gear. baby M's dresser/changer and glider have arrived so hopefully we can borrow a truck and pick them up this weekend. i will post pictures when we get them in the room that grandma and grandpa O worked so tirelessly on...thanks g and g O!!!

25 week Dr. appt.
i had my 25 week dr appt today...i am off by a week:) it went well. baby M's heart rate was in the 160's which i was told was normal. it was a quick trip but got to ask about our elevated trip...heading to colorado. dr L said not to go about 10,000 ft for longer that 30-45 minutes. we should be all good...i think the highest we will be going is 9000 ft! mostly, we are super excited about the cooler weather:)
i head back to the dr's in 2 weeks for a glucose check and a follow up...i think i will be on the every 2 week schedule which is crazy because that means we are getting pretty close to having baby M with us on the outside!!!

the counter cafe
on his last business trip, papa_mona picked up a texas monthly mag with the top 50 burgers in TX so we thought we would try to hit the ones in the ATX area. today we hit the counter cafe (www.thecountercafe.com) for the counter burger...i got regular counter fries with mine and papa_mona got sweet potato fries with his. it was delish!!! we both decided it was the bun that made it so spectacular. i think we will be making trips back in the future to try out some of the other menu items. always good to find a new local place to eat.
