cheeeeeeese!

max is cutting his top molars and i can actually see them coming in so hopefully they'll be all in soon...they're making for some early wake ups these days or at least that is what i'm blaming it on:)
my parents arrived on sunday and we've (they've) been super busy up in baby J's room. its all painted and the chair rail is in, the closet has been deconstructed and is ready to be built out by CC in a couple of weeks, the baby furniture is set to be delivered this morning. i'm hoping to get some pics and shelves hung this afternoon and baby J's room should be pretty darn close to being finished!!! max has been super helpful, just ask grandpa!
max got a hair cut yesterday and he did pretty good again...we went to a regular barber shop and he just sat on my lap...no before and after pics yet but hopefully soon!
my sister and her family fly in today so we have a busy weekend coming up:) hopefully i'll have lots of good pics to put on monday. until then, i leave you with my little cheese ball.

max decided he wanted a chair in front of the desk and took it upon himself to do a little rearranging in the office. as soon as he saw the camera his uber cheese face came out:)

Baby J

well, we had our repeat anatomy scan on tuesday and it is for sure a boy!! he was not shy about showing his boy bits this time around:) the scan went super quick and they could see everything very easily this time around. he was moving around and it was fun being able to see him again. here is a little video...you can see he has a hand up by his face and then that is his leg that moves above his body/face...no wonder babies are so flexible!

its been over 100 everyday this week and as i type this its already 79 degrees with 57% humidity...yuck! we went to the pool on tuesday and had lessons wendnesday and thursday and i'm happy to report max did much better this week. he just needed to get used to the pool. he does much better in the wade pool where he can run and play on his own. we'll try and get there as much as we can this summmer, or at least as much as mama has the energy for:) i have a couple of pics of max but they are on my phone and i haven't gotten those uploaded yet...next time.
my parents get here on sunday to stay for the week. we are going to work hard to get baby J's room done...so exciting! my sister and her family get here a week from yesterday to spend the weekend so it's going to be busy around these parts. i'll update when i can!

OMG...the heat!

the heat people...its crazy, i tell you! just about the entire state of TX is in a severe drought and here in the ATX it is no different...i think the weather man said we haven't had substantial rain since oct. add insult to injury, we've had above normal temps for the last month or so. i think we've been about 10 degrees above normal so that means the highs for the 7 day forecast, 101, 103, 104, 103, 103, 104, 103...for realz...that goodness for the air-con!!! we try to do our outside activities in the AM before it gets too hot but its still pretty warm, max's little cheeks get all red and the heat saps the energy out of me:) its going to be a long summer! i see lots of pool activity and indoor playdates in our future:)
we started swim lessons last week...the first day didn't go so hot but i would say we redeemed ourselves on the second day:) papa came with us to the pool on saturday and we had a great time. we have 2 more lessons this week so i'm hoping for some great things:) we've been trying to hit the pool on the days we can, man, am i hungry and tired when we get home!

max discovered the synthesizer on garage band...the kid is pretty good if i don't say so myself!

we had some bread and jelly for breakfast one morning this week...behold the cuteness!

max is starting to get a few more words...bump continues to be his fav, no no, yes, a version of nose, something resembling jump and kick:) he loves to go on walks, on his own little legs. he does pretty good of staying on the sidewalk when we aren't on our street and is getting much better at holding hands to cross the street. the hard part is coming home...i usually have to carry him part of the way. he doesn't like to turn around and come home:) he just wants to keep going and going!

this and that

nothing too exciting going on here in these parts! its already pretty hot here in ATX, most days in the 90's but i think we've hit 100 a couple of times.
we played in the sprinklers again over the weekend.


we played at a friend's house and they have a pool, max wasn't really sure what to make of the whole thing:)

we start swim lessons on wednesday so that should be interesting.
we have our next anatomy scan a week from tomorrow.
the baby as been kicking up a storm so that has been fun.
max loves to wear our shoes, especially daddy's.

he has been able to "accidently" open a door a couple of times but it hasn't become a regular thing yet...thank goodness.
his top molars seem to be coming in...yuck:(
that's all for now...must go get the beast out of bed...he slept super late this morning!
