18 months

so, wow, i have an 18 month old!! he's like a real little boy and everything:) max turned 18 mos on the 23rd and had his well check yesterday. have i ever mentioned how much i love our pedi, dr j? well, i do, she is fantastic! anywho, max freaked his freak when papa went to put him on the scale...he did this last time i took him but was hoping since it was a sick visit, it was a one time thing, no such luck! they had papa weigh himself first on the big boy scale and then he stood on it with max and we took the difference. all the while, max is howling...this continued while we measured his height:( the poor little guy hasn't been that upset in quite sometime! he was much better once we got into to the exam room. dr j said its normal behavior, max is probably remembering that he gets shots there! he weighs 27lbs (50-75%) and is 35 inches (wicked tall, almost off the charts, 97%). she said he's looking good and is right on track with everything. we did 3 shots yesterday (he did much better with those than the scale!) and now he won't have to have any on his next well check (2yrs). if max stays healthy, we'll see dr j for the baby before we have to take max again.
we played in the sprinklers over the weekend...max really had fun.

we got all signed up for swim lessons, starting in june. did i say last time that max can now turn off the lights...i can't remember...pregnancy brain:)

lots of boys!

so it looks like this smart household will be full of boys:) we had our anatomy scan yesterday...the dr said there are 2 bad positions for a baby to be in for the scan and this little guy was in both of them. he's way low in my pelvis and all curled up in a tight little ball, sitting on his knees/feet...we didn't even think that we were going to find out the gender. they could see some stuff but couldn't get a real good shot of the heart so we are going back in 3 1/2 wks to re-do the scan. with the additional time, he should get bigger, move out of the pelvis and change positions. the dr said everything he could see looked really good and there was no cause for concern. the babe in weighing in at about 10oz which is right on track with his age and due date. right at the very last minute he kicked one of his legs out so we got a good shot of the leg, foot and his business..i even could tell:) it was a quick show...he quickly tucked that leg back in there! we celebrated with burgers, fries and milkshakes with friends.

the big reveal

we have our anatomy scan today at 4pm so i'll try and get back on later to just let everyone know if this little one cooperates on letting us know if max is going to have a little sister or brother:)
we've just been chugging along, staying pretty busy. max was sick a couple of weeks ago with virus that came with rash and fever...it lasted about 48 hours. the poor little guy just didn't feel very good.
he runs everywhere now, its pretty awesome! we got some new shoes, size 8...ginormous! those are my shoes, just as a size comparison...they are a bit big for him but he'll grow into them in minutes i'm sure!

he's been singing and dancing quite a bit this past week...so stinkin' cute. oh, and he can now do the light switches on his own...he get can get them on, on a rare occasion he can get one off but for the most part our outside lights are on through out the day! we've been doing some play dates with friends from the little gym.

this is max's "girlfriend" A. she's super duper cute...she's always huggin' on max and for the most part he's okay with it. max has tried to hold her hand but it made her cry:)

i think they might go the prom some day together!
here's my 18 week belly..forgive the self portrait:)

this last one is from my trip to chicago for my friend M's baby shower. i'm with my BBF K and friend E who was the hostest with mostest. M had her little girl yesterday and she is a beauty!

a picture is worth a thousand words!

cause i don't have time to type a thousand words:) max is a funny, funny little dude. here are some pics of what we have been up to over the last couple of weeks:) i will tell you these little people are like sponges! i wasn't able to capture a picture of it but one afternoon we were in the kitchen and i wasn't looking at max...he was playing with the pots and pans. i look over and that little turkey had the oven glove on his arm, up to the armpit, and the mitt on his hand trying to open the oven...funniest thing i had seen all day! he has also been very into opening the freezer (put a lock on it) and the dishwasher, not sure what to do about this one:( our dishwasher is set into the counter so there is nothing to lock the door to. oh, well, hopefully the newness will wear off soon!
watching the royal wedding...just the replay, we did not get up at 4am:)

getting into things i shouldn't!

so many buttons to push!!

watching the obamas on oprah...not as exciting as the royals:)

side note, pregnant women should not watch oprah, i cry every frickin' time! i can't pry myself away from the last 14 episodes though!!!
all is going well with the pregnancy. have our anatomy scan in about 2 weeks. hoping this little one gives a money shot just like big brother!
