14 months...a couple of days late:)

max turned 14 months on sunday...he is such a big boy! he currently is 25ish lbs and wears a size 7 shoe...holy buckets. he's definitely getting taller as some of his pants are starting to become high-waders and he can reach soooo high. he is still loving the garbage and has now taken to putting things in there...we couldnt't find the leg to his tool table after he went to bed, sure enough, in the garbage...we have now started using the lock on our garbage:) he's starting to need another haircut so we've been using some product if we want his hair to stand up...which i really like:)

he is such a little ham...if he sees me with the camera he totally makes a cheese ball face...its pretty cute.

we wanted to go outside on saturday and max was still in his jammies so we just threw everything on over the pjs!

tomorrow is our last class for this little gym this semester and so there is a little show, i'm going to try to remember to take my camera and get some pictures. we start the next semester next week and we also signed up for a music class. we had put max on a wait list for a mother's day out (MDO) program next fall and we got the call yesterday that there is a spot for him so we are super excited! i have to go fill out the paper work sometime next week. i think he'll be going on tuesday/thursday:)
i've been wanting to make monkey bread for awhile now and i just did it this past weekend...sweet monkey fritters, is that stuff delish! i made my own dough...i've been trying to be more adventurous with breads, so it was a chunk of time but definitely worth it!!

i'll save you from our sleep woes but max has had a rough time of it since being sick so we are trying to go to one nap a day...yesterday that was a big fat FAIL. with that being said, he had/is having a great night's sleep as he is still sleeping (woot!) so we'll see what today brings!!

a little rough around the edges

that's max...poor kid got a tummy bug the start of last weekend...its never fun to see your little guy dry heave:( he had it for about 2 days and then i got it and then papa got it...it diminished as it went down the chain, thank goodness.

being sick totally messed up his sleep...i rock my sick baby to sleep! we are working on getting him back to going to bed on his own...last night was pretty good...he only cried for 5ish minutes before laying down. once that gets back to normal we can work on his naps. i think the cedar might be starting to get to him...he has a bit of runny nose and a tiny cough...its worse when he lays down and it keeps waking him from his naps...suck!! through it all, he's stayed pretty happy, just wants to be held a little more but overall, not too bad!


we got rid of our coffee table in the front room...it was just too dangerous with the beast...he's had 2 run-ins with it so we made the plunge! we got a leather ottoman from costco and are happy with it so far. max likes to crawl up on it and sometimes crawl across it and sometimes try to stand up on it...i'm trying to limit that last one:)

we've taken to watching sesame street in the mornings...max really likes the music, murray had a little lamb and elmo's world:)

he's pretty much running everywhere. he loves to put things in drawers...i'll find my shoes in the drawer. he like to empty his drawers into his hamper. he loves flipping the light switch and he is obsessed with the garbage can.
we had a play date this morning with a friend, L, from the little gym...i think the boys had a good time. we have a birthday party the next 2 weekends...max's social calendar is busier than mine:)

cedar fever

we are in the thick of cedar fever here in ATX and let me tell you, its no fun! especially for papa, he's been sneezing and blowing his nose constantly...he was a mess last night:( the levels are as high as they've been in 7 years...suck!!! hopefully, we can avoid a sinus infection this year. it bothers me a bit, my eyes get tired and i usually have a headache but not too bad. i don't think it gets to max, thank goodness.
we've just been settling back into the swing of things after the holidays and its been nice. we made some good friends at the little gym class that we go to and we've met them at the park and at the children's museum so it definitely keeps us busy which is a good thing. yesterday our friend H came over with her little guy J, he's 4 months, and man, does this kid have some cheeks...i've mentioned this before and of course, i forgot to take a picture again:( we had a nice visit with them!
max continues to perfect his walking and its sooooo fun to watch him go. he continues to get taller and can reach things that used to be out of his reach! if a door has a pull handle, instead of a nob, he can get the door open, as demonstrated this morning at the little gym:) he's been practicing going down the stairs, on his feet and yesterday he was even trying to grab the railing on the way down:)
he's better with his utensils and seems to prefer the fork, he even manages to get something on there every once in awhile:)

hope everyone enjoyed their new year's eve!! we had a nice quite evening at home...we did crack open a bottle of prosecco to celebrate:) max was down at 7 and mama and papa weren't close behind at around 930:) we said our goodbyes to 2010 earlier in the evening!
we started our new year off right this morning with some homemade cinnamon rolls...heart healthy with whole wheat flour! delish...i was pretty pleased with how they turned out.
max is walking like crazy, sometimes its more like running! yesterday, we threw on our shoes and went to play in the yard and the street. max loved it!! he wanted to eat leaves but i don't think any got past me:) we had a minor crash and burn in the street with chin scrape but nothing too bad!
nothing too much to report. will try to get some more decent videos and get them up!
better late than never...here is a pic with brenna and her mama at the christening. B celebrated her first birthday just a couple of days ago and it sounds like her party was a smashing success!
