same old, same old

not too much exciting going on these parts. we got a bit of cooler weather last week (only in the 90's) so that was really nice. made our morning outings a bit more pleasant.

max is pulling up to everything like crazy...including the toilet...this morning he actually got his hands in the water...guess we need to keep the lids down:) he has started to cruise around some of the furniture. i'm sure next week he'll be all. over. the. place!!!
he had his first grilled cheese yesterday and he loved it. i think i am going to finish up the purees we have and then that's it for the "baby" food. he'll just start getting what we eat and other little things i make for him. really the only thing we are holding off on are egg whites and nuts. he can have egg yolk or an egg if its cooked into something like pancakes or zucchini bread.

9 months

max is 9 months old today...i really can't believe it! it just seems like yesterday we were giving him his first real bath at home and he was soooo tiny:)
we celebrated by having his 9 month well check this morning. he is 29 inches long, 22.4 lbs, and his head is 46cm. they didn't give me the % this time but i can tell you he is big:) it's just about time to retire his 9 month clothes and start wearing 12 month all the time. he wore big boy jammies to bed last night...made for some funnies this morning watching him try to crawl with slick pants on:)

he crawls most of the time on his hands and knees now and only occasionally army crawls.

he got the okay for meats and to try putting his formula in a sippy cup or straw cup.
he is getting better at standing everyday and even better he is starting to sit down instead of falling. he spends a lot of time on his knees and loves to look out the window!

it's hard to believe next time we head to the dr's (hopefully) max will be one year old. mama needs to start doing some birthday planning!
oh, and apparently max has a new tooth...i saw it this afternoon while we were playing and he was having a giggle-fest. it's on the top left and i think the top right is coming soon...i think i can see a tiny spot:) that means 5 teeth...soon to be 6!

holy crap!

quite literally! monday evening, just before papa was set to come home, max was sitting up playing in the living room. he fell back so i went over to check on him and do a little cuddling. when i sat him up this is what i found

yup, that's about 4 inches of poop creeping up his back! we went right up to the bath tub:) the outfit went into the garbage...i wasn't even going to try and salvage that!
max is starting to crawl around more on his hands and knees and is getting better at pulling himself up. he wants to do it all. the. time! he gets frustrated though when he can't get all the way up and often times ends up on his knees:)

he gets some seriously crazy hair when he naps!

he loves frozen treats, fudge bar, strawberry bar, whatever!

he has his 9 month check up on his 9 month b-day (monday) so i will post pics and stats after that!

sitting up!

in his crib! i went up to get max from his nap yesterday and found this.

he just started getting himself into a sitting position from his tummy the day before. we lowered his crib mattress to the lowest setting over the weekend so i guess that was good:)
the kid is a mover and shaker and definitely keeps mama on her toes. he has discovered that the doors move and loves to close the doors. i think he is over his purees so i'm trying to get his more "real" food. he does pretty good with the chewing as long as he doesn't take too big of a bite. he really likes cheese and fresh fruit and this morning we tried some buttered toast...i think he ate a couple of bites...he really just prefers to mash whatever he can get his hands on:)
he is weighing in at 22 lbs and has his nine month appt on the 23rd so we'll get to see how tall he is very soon. he has taken to grinding his teeth...yuk...hopefully this is something he stops doing soon.
here he is on his little scooter that we push him around on...he likes it most days.

new friends

max has been pretty busy over the last week...he has gotten both of his top teeth:) the first tooth on the top went pretty well but the second one was really rough on everyone, especially max:( i think the worst is behind us. no pictures of this...i'll keep trying but he usually takes a bite if you put anything in his mouth:)
he is crawling all over the place and has even pulled himself up once...thank goodness the camera was close by and i got to snap a few shots. he loves the modem in the office and that was his motivation, apparently it was a good one, as you can see he got it!





he has also gotten a new friend and wrestling partner...t-rex:)
