3 months

max turned 3 months old yesterday! he was very glad D and C were here to help celebrate:) its been pretty fun around these parts the last few days!
max is now smiling a ton...he loves to smile back at you when you give him big smiles and he also likes to stick out his tongue...this all started about a week ago so its been great!
our company arrived on saturday...unfortunately E was unable to make it as her flight got canceled on saturday morning but she is going to try and come sometime soon. C&D got here saturday evening. max was so very excited to meet them.

we had great weather (75 and sunny) on sunday so we spent some time outside and got some ice cream. max even got to wear his sunglasses:)


C&D watched max sunday night so papa and i could go to the movies...date night is always fun!
monday we went for a walk and then C&D made lasagna for dinner...they even made an extra for the freezer...mama sure has great friends!! we woke up tuesday morning to snow...like real snow!

it ended up snowing most of the day and we still had snow on our roof this morning!

yesterday we hit sugarmamas before the girls had to leave and we also stopped by and saw papa at work. C&D left in the afternoon and made it safely back to STL. shortly after they left max decided to roll over (tummy to back) for the first time. papa was doing some tummy time with him and over he went...he's done it 3 times so far...none today but i think its because papa isn't home:)

max is taking a little nap right now so i thought i would try and get a blog entry done:)
so his surgery went really well and we are so grateful for that! it was a bit of stressful day. of course, max woke up at 5am wanting some food and he couldn't have any:( it was a feat to keep him occupied and sucking. by the time we got to the surgery center he was doing okay but was still having moments of "where's my food????" we checked in and they took us back...the staff/nurses/drs were all wonderful! max had to wear a little hospital gown...it was pretty cute but of course i wasn't with it enough to take a picture. we gave him some extra kisses and snuggles before they took him back. they took me and papa over to his recovery room and a long 40 minutes later dr J came in to let us know that the surgery went well. the nurses brought max in about 30 minutes later...he was pretty out of it but nursed for about 10 minutes and then went back to sleep! that's pretty much what he did for the rest of the day:)
we are now pretty much back to his regular routine during the day. he isn't sleeping as long at night as he was before the surgery but i'm hoping it will just take a week or so for him to get back to where he was. he's been playing and talking like crazy. he sometimes like to double fist with the toys:)
he's been giving mama some great smiles on the changing table. i think he's right at 13lbs.
mama has 3 of her closest friends from college coming in town this weekend...max can't wait to meet E, C, and A! we'll post some pics next week!

don't have any new pictures but just wanted to post to let everyone know that max had his hernia surgery yesterday. it went really well and he is recovering nicely. he slept most of the day yesterday with some eating and tylenol taking thrown in there. he actually slept pretty good last night and i woke him to give him his medicine and feed him. he is eating less than he normally does so i just want to make sure he isn't getting dehydrated. this morning he has kind of gone back to his normal routine and is sleeping now. thanks for all of the well wishes!!

v-day!

it's been a bit crazy around these parts this past week! we had a water heater leak on sunday that papa noticed because the paint was starting to bubble in the guest bathroom downstairs (water heater is up!) we got a new water heater on monday but are now dealing with cleaning up the water damage and will have to have some home repairs done. we've had people in and out of the house all week!
max has been handling all of the disruptions like a champ! he has been sleeping great this week...the last 2 nights he has gone about 8-9 hours without waking. it's great!!! he goes about 8pm to 8am with one wake up around 5ish. he's talking more and using his voice...right now he is protesting the fact mama is making him do some tummy time (he hates it!)...i don't do it enough:( he is hanging onto his rattles and shaking them in his face and it's fun to watch. he is weighing in at 12lb 10oz!
i've made dinner twice this week...max has been helping:)


and in honor of valentine's day max got a dollar shirt from target!!

max has his surgery monday...we find out tomorrow what time we have to be there! i know it's probably going to be harder on me than him but we'd appreciate some good thoughts for a smooth operation and a speedy recovery for max!!!

10 weeks

my little guy is 10 weeks old today...hard to believe!
mama_mona's bff, K, was here last week and boy, did we have a great time. we are trying very hard to get her to move to austin....come on, K, you know you loved the warm weather....MOVE already!!


K watched max one night so papa and i were able to go get dressed up and go on a date. we had a great time and really enjoyed the new restaurant, olivia, that we went to:)

max's new thing seems to be grabbing onto things and not letting go...he tends to hang onto his burp rags but this morning he grabbed one of his rattles, waved it in his face and then threw it on the ground. the swing and bouncer seat are regaining his favor...he sat very peacefully in his bouncer this morning while mama took a shower:)
he is now wearing some of his 3-6 month outfits and some of his 0-3 stuff has been packed away....so long tuxedo:( i'm confident that he is over 12 lbs now...crazy i tell you!
