sooooo tall!

max had his 2 month well check today and he is a whopping 24 inches long (90%)!!! and he weighed 11lbs 10oz (50%). the boy is growing like a weed:) he is just about out of his 3 month footed outfits and most of his pants are a little short but big around the waist...he needs suspenders like his papa:)

he also got his first set of shots (3 shots, 1 oral) and i must say he handle it like a champ...screamed while it was happening but promptly fell asleep after. i think he will sleep most of the day and i'll just wake him to feed.
dr. j said everything was looking good and gave us an A for parenting:) max's hernia surgery has been rescheduled and is now on feb. 15th.
K gets here tomorrow and we are anxiouslt awaiting her arrival!

crib time

well, we did it! max has been sleeping up in his crib for over a week and he has been doing great! it was a really smooth transition and continues to go well. there is really not a whole to report on lately. papa_mona has been learning sign language and showing it to max every night:) he also declares an official roll...really max can get himself onto his side but his one arm gets stuck and can't get the rest of the way over:) i have discovered that either in my old age or constant tired state that i only know about half the words to any given nursery rhyme...the rest i just make up...max doesn't seem to mind, but seriously how do i not know the words to the itsy bitsy spider...i had to ask papa when he got home:)
i do believe he is over 11 lbs and seems to be getting longer everyday! his smiles seem a bit more purposeful and he feel asleep on his belly for the first time yesterday. i was attempting some tummy time and he just feel asleep...he was tuckered out:)



he has his 2 month well check on monday with his first set of shots. i will try and post after to update all of his stats. mama_mona's bff K is coming in town on tuesday and staying the week so we are really excited about that.

one of my favorite things!

there is nothing better than snuggling a sleeping baby! i'm doing that right now as i type this:)
one of my favorite things about max are his tiny little toes...love, love,love them!

the weather has gotten warmer so max and i have hit the streets again. its supposed to start raining this afternoon so we are going to try and get out for our walk before that happens!
got the birth announcements addressed and in the mail so that was quite an accomplishment!
we are thinking about moving max up to his crib because he's been sleeping so well at night but, of course, that's going to be a harder transition for mama:) hopefully we'll make it up there soon!

this is what i love!!

my two bestest momonas! i just don't know how it gets any better than this!!
we are starting to settle into a pretty good routine and max and i are finding each others company very enjoyable throughout the day. we try and go on a walk if the weather is nice and most of the time he loves the stroller:) mama_mona usually considers it an accomplishment if she gets a shower and one other chore done during the day...yesterday laundry, today vacuum! i'm also getting pretty good at one-handed typing:)
max is weighing in at just over 10 lbs...he's very excited to hit double digits!
we are bracing for some cold weather here over the next couple of days...low in the 20's and high of 35! i know it's not THAT cold but it is for here and it's all relative, baby!! max and i are going to put on our snuggies and hunker down for the cold snap. you know where to find us if you need us...the couch:)

we have a name!

brenna lynn arrived at home yesterday in the late afternoon! we haven't seen her yet but are hoping to skype with them later today so we can see her in person...max is anxious to meet his cousin:)

welcome 2010!

well, 2009 is come and gone, so glad it brought baby M with it!! we are really looking forward to all the firsts and milestones we are going to celebrate in 2010.
the last week has been pretty exciting...max had his first christmas and he got his first cousin!! to be honest, christmas wasn't really a whole lot different than any other day:) we were easy on the gifts this year:) grandma and grandpa S were here to celebrate with us so that made the day special.
my sister had her baby on dec 30...as of this post, no name has been decided so we are calling her Miss G. she was 7 lbs 8 ozs and 19 inches. she's pretty cute and max is excited to meet her!
we had a quite new year's eve here at home...max got into his formal wear and partied like a rock star! it's fun having papa_mona home from work today.


will spend this weekend trying to get the christmas decorations down and getting some errands run. nothing to exciting but it keeps us busy.
max is topping the scales at 9 lbs 10 ozs and continues to be wonderful as always. will update with miss G's name when it is announced!
we also got our pics back from M and she did a great job...birth announcements should be sent early next week and i hope to get them out after next weekend!
